The Work of Unbecoming

Before we become, we let go. Before we begin anew, we unbecome.

The unbecoming is what clears the space. It’s what makes room for softness. It’s the exhale.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about all of the identities, expectations and quiet rules I’ve had to release in order to feel like me. Not the version that’s polished or productive, but the version of me that’s authentic and present.

Over the past few years, I’ve had to let go of the old rules I once believed made me a “good friend.” Always available. Always agreeable. Always showing up, even when I was depleted. Setting boundaries around my time, energy and capacity felt like betraying those old versions of closeness. I've had to remind myself that I'm allowed to change. I'm allowed to let go of what no longer feels like me.

This is the energy we're honoring here. The Full Moon is not about perfection, it's about return and release.

This is why we focus so heavily on the rituals of the Full Moons- nature's own time of release and renewal.

You can find the 12 Full Moon Ritual's for release here, one for each month.

May these rituals begin to lead you back to yourself.

With strength + softness,

Jane
